Chelsea’s Diego Costa certainly isn’t the shy, retiring type, is he?
Diego Costa somehow managed to avoid receiving his marching orders today, despite tussling with every available Arsenal player on the pitch.
The Chelsea striker is renowned for his bully-boy tactics, but his mad-man aggression reached new levels this afternoon.
While Arsenal’s Gabriel Paulista and Santi Carzola saw red, the Spanish striker evaded any punishment from Mike Dean – depsite a whole host of indiscretions.
The 26-year-old striker was typically the centre of attention against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon and he played a huge part in Gabriel’s sending off in the first-half.
Gabriel received a yellow and then a straight red in the space of a minute after Costa’s succesful goading of the Brazilian defender, but absolutely nobody was surprised.
See Mourinho’s thoughts on the whole incident below:
One stat proves that Costa may just be the greatest wind-up merchant in world football.
Remarkably, the Spanish centre-forward hasn’t been sent off since 2012 – we’d hate to think how many players he’s got sent off in that time!
