Manchester United deny meeting Guardiola

Manchester United have denied meeting with Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola to woo the Spaniard over to the Old Trafford as Louis van Gaal’s successor.

France Football reported that a meeting between the heads at United and Guardiola took place in Paris, but the Red Devils have rubbished the story as not true.

The former Barcelona boss, who has confirmed that he will not continue as manager at Bayern Munich at the end of the current season, has revealed that he’s getting offers from Premier League clubs and he’s considering a move to England.

Strong indications are coming from England that Manchester United will be replacing the under pressure van Gaal with the Bayern boss, but they face a strong battle as rivals Manchester City are favourites to land his signature. Chelsea are also interested in getting the 2-time Champions League winner’s services.

Manchester United’s playing style have been strongly criticized under van Gaal, and the club is presently 2 points out of the top 4 zone.

Meanwhile, Guardiola has openly apologised to Premier League managers for putting them under pressure after announcing that he will be coaching in England come next season.

“It was not my intention to offend anybody,” he said. “Normally in my career as a trainer and as a player, I respect my colleagues a lot.”
