Ecco Signs LPGA Tour Player Na Yeon Choi on Heels of Coates Championship Win

Ecco yesterday announced the signing of an endorsement deal with LPGA Tour star Na Yeon Choi, who wore its BIOM Hybrid model en route to winning the Coates Golf Championship, held this past weekend at Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club in Ocala, Florida.

The victory was Choi’s eighth career LPGA Tour and moved her to No. 12 on the Rolex Ranking. Affectionately known as “NYC,” the 27 year old is among South Korea’s most popular sports stars, having won the 2012 U.S. Women’s Open Championship and 2010 Vare Trophy for lowest scoring average on the LPGA Tour.

Among the footwear Choi will showcase as an Ecco ambassador is the new BIOM Hybrid 2. It features an extra-thin midsole to bring golfers closer to the playing surface, as well as a dual-density TPU outsole that is harder in areas which need the most stability and softer in key comfort zones.

“Na Yeon is an icon in Korea, which is among the largest and most important markets for Ecco Golf,” says Jesper Thuen, Sponsorship, PR & Event Manager – Ecco Golf Lab. “She’s also admired globally for her engaging personality, outstanding style and exceptional talent.”

Choi, who turned pro in 2004, has claimed seven KLPGA titles, including two co-sanctioned LPGA Tour events. She represented Asia at the 2008 Lexus Cup and served as a member of the South Korean team during the 2014 International Crown.

In addition to Choi, other Eco endorsers include Fred Couples, Ernie Els, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjørn, Marcel Siem, Thongchai Jaidee, Will Wilcox and Caroline Masson.
